About Dr. Sean
He’s taught many well-received college courses, ranging from first-year composition to a favorite of his called “Cyborgs, Vampires, and Drag Queens: Literature and Posthumanism.”
Dr. Sean is also an award-winning scholar who’s published extensively, including a book with the University of Michigan Press. You can read more about his teaching and research here.
While considerably younger, Shveta also has over a decade of teaching experience, including successful stints with Princeton Review and Kaplan, where she trained SAT instructors, published original study guides, and was nominated for Teacher of the Year.
For a good chunk of the aughts, she was a New York City Teaching Fellow and taught AP English at Brooklyn Technical High School. Her test prep book for the AP Exam in English Literature was published by McGraw-Hill in 2010.
Shveta holds a BA with honors from UC Berkeley, a Masters with Distinction in Modern Literature from the University of London, and a Masters in Secondary Education.
Actually, The Three of Us
As you’ve no doubt already surmised, we’re a couple literary nerds who were drawn to each other’s bookish proclivities. As a matter of fact, we met as masters students in London in 2003. We got married in 2007 and now live happily in Portland, Oregon with our pride-and-joy, Dahlia.
Here we are at Dahlia’s fourth birthday party. She insisted on a chocolate skull cake with rainbow frosting, which pretty much sums up her aesthetic sensibility.
